Goodbye Maine, Hello Vermont!

We've left Maine. So sad! The lobsters were the most messy and delicious things ever. We ate them in our campsite with melted butter and lemon. On the way out of Maine, we stopped by the Maine State Aquarium, recocmended by the park owner (he noticed my shark sweatshirt.) The entire aquarium was about as big as andrew's living room! We saw blue lobsters, a 50 pound lobster, and a lobster catiching show. We also got to touch more sharks and some prehistoric horseshoe crabs.
Our candy, featured in a previous post, was gone by the time we headed out. It decided to melt into a gummy gob, which blended all those delicious flavors together. Those sharks have a very low melting point.
We drove into Vermont and camped the night in Ascutney State Park, which was very tree-y and close to the highway. Andrew cooked a delicious meal of mac and cheese and rice. For dessert he made rice-milk-marshmellow-maple syrup surprise!
The next morning we packed up camp and hiked a ways up Mt. Ascutney. We stopped at a waterfall 1/3 of the way up, ate snacks and came back down. The great thing about Vermont is that the entire state is about the size of my baby toe on a map, and not much bigger in real life, so we drove to the other end of the state to the Ben and Jerry's Factory tour and free ice cream (we also got 2 scoops of a cannot-buy-by-the-pint flavor called coconut 7 layer bar.) Andrew squirted water out of his nose, & we stopped by the Green Mountain Coffee tour before driving back across the State to Andrew's uncle Tim's house. It's very tree-y here also. We're having a great time on our adventure. Andrew replaced a headlight on the car (who is now named Bessie) with his magical car skills, but no problems other than that. Bessie's doing a great job!
